Unfortunately, as you have made too many requests to the COSMIC website your usage has been temporarily restricted. Please try again shortly.

Our acceptable use policy (AUP) describes the terms under which visitors may use this website and access the data contained within it. COSMIC usage is also governed by the terms and conditions of the Wellcome Sanger Institute. These terms aim to ensure that the COSMIC website is not unduly affected by the actions of any individual user. We explicitly limit the rate at which a given user may make requests against the website.

We strongly discourage automated downloading from the website and provide all of our data for bulk downloading by registered users either via a web page or programmatically using a command line script.

You may register for a COSMIC account for non-commercial use of the COSMIC data via the COSMIC website.

For commercial use of the COSMIC data, please contact COSMIC's commercial distribution partner Qiagen via this link. Qiagen will then be in contact with you and will be able to help you with any queries you may have regarding the different commercial licensing options.

For reference, under our current Non-commercial Terms and Conditions, commercial use of COSMIC's data downloads in effect means;

1. research use by a commercial company;
2. use or incorporation into a commercial product or towards performance of a commercial service;
3. use for patient services or generation of reports in a hospital or other patient care setting that you charge your patients for either via self-pay or insurance.
